Cobraced, the multi-faceted association!

0

Cobraced was born in 2012 after a long reflection on the occupation of the young people of the district of Concordia in order to offer them sports, cultural or artistic activities coupled with help with homework.

"Indeed, our internal philosophy is based on the development of young people as a whole", specifies Audrey Claxton, president of COBRACED. “While many parents choose to deprive their children of athletic and artistic activities when their academic performance is poor or their behavior is abnormal, we advocate on the contrary the need for an approach that integrates constructive extra-curricular activities. We experienced this from 2012 to 2016, and our approach has borne fruit ”.

Sponsored by the ACED association then financed by the FIPD funds (interministerial crime prevention fund) with the help of the former Prefect Mr. CHOPIN, we started with activities around the practice of volleyball for all ages. Then we gradually structured ourselves with representation in competitions in the categories, senior men and women and junior girls and boys. Our participation in the competitions of the Volleyball League of the North Islands allowed us to obtain the award for best manager in 2014 and best coach in 2015.

In 2016, our association ACED became a Integration Site and to comply with the new regulations in force it is necessary to separate from some of its divisions. COBRACED then takes up the torch of social mediation and educational support.

Despite the passage of hurricane Irma COBRACED held out with a workforce of 15 employees. We quickly adapted to post-Irma demand and to the needs of families to offer them a food distribution service, school support before and throughout school recovery, as well as family support with our mediators.

Today, with the support of the Fondation de France, the Secours Populaire, the Prefecture and the Collectivity, two new projects have seen the light of day: "Restoring the desire to learn to the children of Saint-Martin" and "Symbiose" . Our new director, Peggy OULERICH will soon present the main thrusts of these measures in favor of young people and families in difficulty in Saint-Martin.

COBRACED has a philosophy which is clearly expressed through its slogan "we Rise and take action": Respect, Integrity, Sense of work and Excellence. It is this motto which is the driving force of our educational, competent, qualified and experienced team, which radiates through our actions and which translates into concrete and positive results in our territory.

Our summer camp is currently in place until July 27, at 10 euros per day including meals. From August 6 and for three weeks we will offer free drawing workshops. And finally, to prepare for the start of the new school year, our “back to school” program is waiting for you from August 13 to 24.
