Claire Javois requests a review of the allocation of scholarships based on social criteria

Claire Javois, the deputy for Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin, asked for a review of the criteria for granting education grants on social criteria in order to take into account the new professional situation of parents since Irma's visit. Thus, in a letter addressed to the Minister of Education, Frédérique Vidal, on January 26, she wrote:

“[…] You are aware that the higher and secondary education scholarship is awarded according to the resources perceived by the parents in year N-1, therefore according to the resources of the year 2016. Some parents students […] drew my attention to the fact that if they were able to provide for their children before Hurricane Irma hit, they can no longer do so today. It would therefore be essential and urgent to review the situation of these few students, taking into account the current real situation of their families, for this school year 2017-2018, as well as for the start of the 2018 school year. ”
