The Carnivalesques de Saint-Martin association (FCDSM) has just unveiled the 2016 carnival program, as well as the new logo for the event. The launch of this edition will take place on January 22 on the seafront, in Marigot.
It was Claudine Mingau, vice-president of the FCDSM association, who presented this 2016 program to us: from the election of Miss Pitchounette (January 24), to the children's parades (January 31) and adults (February 7) , through the concerts organized in the carnival village, the different activities are much the same as in 2015. Note that the next children's parade will have the theme "The rainforest". This program is not fixed and may evolve according to requests, says the vice-president who invites people wishing to participate in the carnival to contact the association. The final program will be announced in October. The budget for the 2016 carnival amounts to almost 120.000 euros. "To complete it, we are looking for partners," adds Ms. Mingeau. To take part in the various elections or join a group (until October 31), please contact the association by dialing 06 90 22 96 15. The festivities will run until February 10, 2016.
