CESC: in favor of the Real Equality Overseas Bill

The Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE) adopted last week - 171 votes in favor, 2 against and 12 abstentions - the opinion on the draft programming law in favor of substantive equality Overseas. “The inventory shows discrepancies in several overseas territories with France in the following areas: access to the main daily life services, access to education, access to work, impoverishment, precariousness of young people, which alone justify for the EESC a draft programming law in favor of ultra-marine vessels. ” Concerning education, a point on the illiteracy rates was also made: Mayotte obtains the highest rate, followed by Saint-Martin, Wallis and Guyana. _EH
