Naturalization ceremony at the prefecture

34 people received French nationality last Thursday at the prefecture. This ceremony was organized by the prefect Anne Laubies, in the presence of Rosette Lake Gumbs, vice-president of the Community, and Jean-Luc Deras, the new commander of the SPAF.

On this occasion, the prefect greeted the recipients with words of welcome, while reminding them of their rights and duties to the Republic. She quoted President John F. Kennedy's words, "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." A way for her to tell them that France expects a lot from them. That they must participate actively in the preservation and development of republican values. _KL
