Children will parade on Saturday from noon, departing from John Cooper / José Lake Ballpark. Troops will head to LB Scott Road, Bush Road, and will follow Pondfill to Little League Ball Park.
Children no longer parade on Front Street due to the heat and lack of accessibility for emergency services, according to the St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation (SCDF). Friday, the final of the “Road to Carnival party series” will start at Taloula Mango's on the Boardwalk from 18 p.m. On this occasion, Shadz, Fox, Magic, King James and Lion will show their talents to the public. The party will continue at the Tantra club with Bunji Garlin. The official kick-off of the carnival will take place on April 17 with the opening of the Carnival Village. _EH
