Report on regional seismicity

In March 2017, regional soil activity once again remained stable, according to the latest data published by the Volcanological and Seismological Observatory of Guadeloupe (OVSG-IPGP). The organization recorded, in a region of 450 km around Guadeloupe, a total of 111 earthquakes of tectonic origin, with a maximum magnitude of 5,2. Concerning the Northern Islands, two earthquakes were recorded: the first took place on March 10, of magnitude 4,8 at 40 km south-southeast of Saint-Barth and at 102 km deep, and the second on March 13, of magnitude 4,6, 42 km south-southeast of Saint-Barth and 99 km deep.
