At the prefecture, the prefect Anne Laubies and the prosecutor of the jurisdiction of Basse-Terre Samuel Finielz unveiled last Friday the assessment for the year 2015 of the facts of delinquency in Saint-Martin, alongside the gendarmerie and police services. We note that burglaries are increasing sharply, despite relatively good figures.

In the fight against delinquency, the figures for 2015 are almost similar to those for last year. "General delinquency increased by 2%", specifies the prefect Anne Laubies, detailing the data: increase of 0,86% for property crimes, increase of 5,82% for robberies with violence, decrease in robberies army with 95 reported facts, against 105 last year. "Delinquency is under control," adds prosecutor Samuel Finielz. The two black points of this assessment are the increase in burglaries by 33% and attempted homicides, 14 in 2015. In addition, the rate of elucidation is qualified as good, “higher than the national rates”, underlines the prefect. “There is great efficiency in the fight against the possession and circulation of weapons. We have had numerous arrests in the act, ”notes Samuel Finielz. The objective for all law enforcement agencies remains an increased presence on the ground. Regarding burglaries, particularly targeted at Concordia, the prefect wishes to work with the Collectivity and set up existing systems, including “Vigilant neighbors”. “Everyone has to work together. Everyone must feel like an actor in the fight against delinquency ”, says Ms. Laubies. The fight against armed robbery, the fight against the possession and circulation of firearms, the fight against drug trafficking and the fight against illegal immigration are among the main repressive objectives of the judicial authority , concludes Samuel Finielz.
