The Saint-Martin Basketball Association (ABSM) is organizing the 20th annual Basketball camp from February 24 to 6 at the gymnasium François Matthew. 80 trainees of all levels aged 10 to 17, residents of Saint-Martin or elsewhere are expected!
The ABSM BASKETBALL CAMP aims to bring together basketball enthusiasts from all walks of life in Saint-Martin. But also and above all to work with young people to:
1. Make accessible to all, the opportunity to train, improve and receive advice from high-level trainers in France, Switzerland, Martinique and Guadeloupe
2. Promote access to sport for young people and thus offer opportunities for the best to be spotted to integrate a Sport-studies structure
3. Bringing together and connecting young people from different social and cultural backgrounds in a framework that promotes exchanges and sharing.
The objectives of this basketball camp are multiple:
• Convey essential values to the young participants: Respect, Sharing, Self-improvement, Proximity, Success
• Propose an educational and educational project to trainees
• Discover the Talents of tomorrow
• Promote the island of Saint-Martin and its youth
Among the coaches present for this 6th edition, we note the presence of Jean-Louis Borg, General Manager of the JDA (Dijon, Pro A).
Coming from a family of basketball players, he made a playing career where he played in National 3 and in National 2. He was elected best Pro A coach in 2013-2014 with Dijon. He began his coaching career in 1994 in pro B then Pro A with the Hyères-Toulon team which he left in 2005 to join the
club of JA Vichy with whom he will be Pro B Champion in 2007, allowing the club to access Pro A, the elite of French basketball. He will then join the JDA club (Dijon) in 2011, obtaining the honorary title of Coach of the year in 2013. His strength, the defense of which his game is mainly based. Director of the TP Camp for several years, this great gentleman of French basketball has been the general manager of the JDA since 2015.
It makes us the immense honor for the second consecutive year to be one of the coaches of the camp organized in Saint-Martin. _AF

• Tuesday : Attacking fundamentals / Matches
• Wednesday: Offensive fundamentals / Beach Tennis initiation
• Thursday: Defensive fundamentals / Contests / Matches
• Friday : Defensive Basics / Matches
Awarding of Rewards
The typical day:
• 8 p.m .: Campers welcome
• 9 am-12pm: Training
• 12 p.m.-14 p.m.: Meals / Relaxation
• 14h-17h: Training
