The date of the great International Meeting of athletics of Saint-Martin is approaching! The Collectivity of Saint-Martin and the Speedy Plus club promise you another great show this year, this Saturday, May 7, at the Albéric Richards stadium in Sandy-Ground.
International athletes, world champions and Olympic medalists will travel to Saint-Martin to compete in international events. The meeting will take place from 9 a.m. to 19 p.m. In the first part of the day (9 am to 11 am), the public will be able to attend school competitions in Saint-Martin and Sint-Maarten. These first events will be followed by the competition of the regional Junior teams (chicks, youngest, small and cadets), from 11h to 16h.
The second part of the program will be entirely devoted to international events, from 16 p.m. to 19 p.m., this year again with a colorful poster and very high level athletes. International races, Men's and Women's length, 110 meters hurdles, 400 meters, or even 100 meters Handisport, the public will be able to admire the athletes at work.
The presence of the American Deedee Trotter, Olympic medalist, Marie Gayot (FR) champion of France in 400m, Libania Grenot (Italy) European champion in 400m, Wilhem Belocian, recordman and junior world champion, and also the young Hughes Zharnel (Anguilla), who runs in the Usain Bolt team, should create a great enthusiasm with the public, with promising performances on the track of Sandy Ground. Many countries will be represented, including the major athletic nations: Kenya, Nigeria, Jamaica, USA, and also Italy, Turkey and the Caribbean islands.
