ASSOCIATION: Great success for the ALEFPA charity evening – Le Manteau de Saint-Martin

Organized on Friday March 10 at La Terrasse restaurant in Marigot, the charity evening as part of International Women's Rights Day was sold out, with many surprises in store for guests in the field of art.

Audrey Gil, director of the association ALEFPA – Le Manteau de Saint-Martin, is delighted with the course of the charity evening honoring three painters and women in general: "The evening was a great success, we even had to refuse entries”. Underlining the importance of federating, many associations in the area also supported the event such as the Red Cross of Saint-Martin, AIDES, SXM Trail, Cobraced, Axes and Targets For All, the Association Against 'Exclusion and Delinquency (ACED), and many others. Among the painters whose works were put up for sale via silent auctions for the benefit of the association Le Manteau, namely the talented Audrey Claxton, Magali Crecel and Gémie Landre who exhibited her first painting, adults with autism from the Abri Montagnard living center offered their paintings produced during a painting workshop. Each work, in its own unique style, had a strong artistic dimension from which emanated an emotional charge felt by the entire audience. Silent auctions succeeded one another to acquire these paintings, proving once again the disproportionate power of art on the evolution of a society. Other women highlighted during the evening which brought together more than a hundred people, the poet JustMlle aka Melissa Fleming, Catherine de Vermont from the Akwaba SXM boutique to whom we owe the sumptuous evening dresses presented during the parade of fashion and the dancers of the Copacabana Show, magnificent during their performance with the wings of Isis. In addition to the honorable charitable aspect, this event whose guests could immortalize the moment thanks to a photo booth at their disposal was also an opportunity to make known the missions of the association ALEFPA – Le Manteau to the general public. Audrey Gil also wanted to thank the unwavering and long-standing support of the Rotary Club, which has shown solidarity for many years. It is moreover on the initiative of the latter that the association ALEFPA – Le Manteau launched this concept of charity evening focused on art. The edition of this Friday, March 10, 2023 can boast of having met with the success expected by the whole team whose associative work carried out on a daily basis is essential in the territory of Saint-Martin. _VX
