After the photo exhibition by Didier Rouxel on Japan through the island of Shikoku and its 88 temples in April which allowed many visitors to discover the beauty of the Japanese archipelago from another angle, art lovers have had the chance to contemplate the following month, the unpublished works of the artist-painter, Jimmy Lucéro who was not afraid, to speak through his magnificent paintings full of colors, his perceptions of life, in particular during the Covid-19 epidemic.
A new universe to discover…
From this afternoon 16 pm, and until July 20 inclusive, it is the photographer, Jean Vallette, who invests the walls of the SM'ART FAXINFO - ART GALLERY.
From the age of 16, Jean Vallette fell in love with the image of women, grabbed a camera and never left his subject and his lens.
All the art of this photographer is governed by the principle of Yin and Yang, shadow and light. His female nudes, often fragmented, with unexpected perspectives, evoke Impressionism, Rodin's sculpture, surrealism, and go as far as the purest abstraction.
Because the subjects - the women - of Jean Valette are above all landscapes, sensual and mysterious, borrowing from the sweetness of the islands, inviting a deep gaze, a Beaudelairian caress. "Whether from Oceania, Africa or the West Indies, the Woman I dress in light remains an ideal". We may find it extraordinary that a photographer who lives in Saint-Martin declares "to use only one light, artificial, which acts as the sun". The star of the day is however not lacking in this beautiful part of the world! But Jean Vallette is not interested in the visible, in immediate reality: “The Image, my image, is neither a mirror nor a reflection. It is only the extension of my gaze, only the expression of my emotion ”.
