Humpback whales arrive

0

It is mating season. Humpback whales are present in Caribbean waters to reproduce and give birth, according to the Agoa sanctuary which invites the population not to disturb these marine mammals.

Whale watching from December to June is a unique experience. You may be lucky enough to see one of these cetaceans weighing between 24 and 40 tonnes. In order not to disturb their tranquility, it suffices to apply a few rules.

Here are the recommendations of Agoa:

• If several boats are present in the area: do not surround the animals. Position yourself on the same side and never divide a group;

• Avoid any sudden change in engine speed, speed or direction;

• Limit the time spent in the caution zone to 30 minutes;

• Do not swim, touch or feed cetaceans.
