Prefectural decree: Swimming prohibited and Prohibition of access to beaches and collective swimming pools

“By a prefectural decree of March 19, 2020, it was decided to prohibit swimming in fresh water and sea water in Guadeloupe, Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin. The Collectivities of Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin take the decrees relating to the beaches ”.

"Access to collective swimming pools (residences, hotels) and to beaches is closed" specifies the decree which indicates that "these measures are justified because, despite all the containment measures enacted, it was noted that a significant number of visitors to the number of people on the beaches ”.

“In view of the health emergency situation and the need to prevent all behaviors likely to increase or promote the risk of contagion, it appeared imperative to
strengthen containment measures ”.
