A detachment from the command and logistics company (CCL) of 33nd RIMa, based in Martinique, is currently deployed in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth

The soldiers will be on the ground until November 18 as part of the natural disaster plan (CATNAT) which was triggered following the passage of Hurricane Irma in 2017.

The objectives of this new mission are multiple, namely:

- Update the site files (collection point, sanitary, evacuation, etc.), the aim being to have a precise situation of the points of interest of the two islands in the event of a natural disaster.

- Define the needs of the company to be operational upstream of the cyclone. The staff of the CCL makes an inventory of all its needs, logistic and material, in order to be quickly projectable and able to act in the event of natural disaster.

- Train the chain of reaction. Depending on the impact or the extent of the natural phenomenon, the goal is to set an operating mode for the elements deployed and to define the incompressible needs.
