It's back to school and the first sporting event is given this Sunday, September 11, on the beach of Grand-Case, for the Le Temps des Cerises aquathlon, organized by SXM Tri Académie.
This is the second edition of this atypical format. "The course consists of four times 250m of swimming then 1000m of running", explains Erwan Gentil. “It's a short format that allows you to discover something else. Some like the swimming part less. But we do it in a very secure environment because we are really swimming at the edge of the beach”. The opportunity also for spectators to enjoy the race. Last year, for the first edition, the aquathlon attracted around sixty participants.
Children (under 14) will also have their race with a loop of 200m swimming and 1000m running.
"Registration will be open from Wednesday September 7 to Saturday September 10 in the Tri Sport stores in Marigot and Sport Fit in Hope Estate", specifies Erwan Gentil.
