Anthony Alfred had a dream: to have a boxing club. This has now been done since Saturday July 30 and the launch of the Sandy Ground superstar boxing association.
A boxer for twenty years and originally from Dominica, Anthony Alfred has lived in Saint-Martin for over thirty years. With two professional fights to his credit, one of which won, and eight amateur fights won out of ten, he now wants to pass on his passion.
What he likes about English boxing, “is the discipline. Without it, it is not worth practicing. Boxing demands respect for others.
Thanks to the support of Philippe Arrendel, of the ABC Intersports club, who provided gloves and helmets to the young club, Anthony Alfred now offers training on the Sandy Ground basketball court, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 17 p.m. to 18 p.m. “When I have found a room, I will offer more training”.
