A real roadmap for the State and the Community on agricultural issues, this plan was drawn up in a collegial manner with all the professionals and actors involved directly or indirectly in this sector of activity.

In addition to providing a space for constructive discussion, the working groups and the Strategic Orientation and Agricultural Development Committee (COSDA) of Saint-Martin made it possible to establish a shared diagnosis and define concrete actions to be implemented. implemented to meet the needs of farmers and local stakeholders.

The territorial plan for sustainable agriculture (PTAD) makes it possible to set the priorities for public action and to provide clarity on its continuity to support Saint-Martin agriculture in the face of the challenges imposed on it, in particular:

• Ensure our food sovereignty and allow as many people as possible to access quality food;

• Guarantee healthy, safe, sustainable, quality and local food for all; in response to citizens' expectations;

• Recognize the services provided by agriculture: maintaining biodiversity, soil quality, adaptation to climate change, landscaping, etc.

The action plan is structured around 4 axes with the objective of developing quality local agriculture that respects the environment through actions to promote, support, professionalize and structure the sectors.

The plan is established for a period of 7 years and will thus cover most of the next programming of European funds, in particular the European agricultural fund for rural development (EAFRD).

Annual monitoring as well as a final assessment, according to the indicators proposed in the action plan, will be provided by COSDA, which may propose modifications or adaptations at any time.

The State is careful to coordinate its action with that of all stakeholders in agriculture and agri-food in Saint-Martin while leaving each organization the autonomy of its actions according to its own skills and decisions of its elective bodies.
