After four years at the head of the gendarmerie company of the North Islands, Lieutenant-Colonel Sébastien Manzoni joined the DGGN (Directorate General of the National Gendarmerie) where he will occupy the position of commander of the conduct section of the CPGC (Center planning and crisis management).
An assignment that corresponds to his professional wishes and where he can use the experience acquired during Hurricane Irma. A position he will join on August 1, when his replacement at La Savane, squadron chief Stéphan Basso, will take command of the company from the North Islands. Coming from the ranks, Commander Basso joined the gendarmerie officers' school in 2005. He will not be too disoriented in Saint-Martin, since he knows the overseas territories, and more particularly Guyana where he occupied the post of second in command of the Matoury brigade. Promoted squadron leader on April 1, 2017, Stéphan Basso is, since August 1, 2016, the commander of the Orange gendarmerie company. _RM
