Subject to health developments, Air Belgium announces that it will resume its flights to the West Indies on July 2. It should add a new destination from Brussels South Charleroi airport: Curaçao.

Since the outbreak of the health crisis, Belgian and international governments have implemented constantly evolving measures and restrictions.

In this context, Air Belgium has decided to anticipate future developments and to operate all of its passenger flights from July 2.  “Although we hope to see the crisis and its effects diminish, it is clear that there are still many uncertainties and that our business sector still suffers from an essential lack of visibility. We are, like each of our passengers, forced to follow day-to-day developments and to adjust without being able to anticipate the consequences of the announcements and decisions taken by the various authorities, whether Belgian, French and / or Caribbean ”.

On the Belgian side, the obligation to present essential reasons for traveling has already been extended twice since the beginning of this year. In addition, Martinique has just been reclassified in the red zone by Belgium and joins Guadeloupe, which has also been in the red zone for several weeks.

"For this reason and after careful consideration", it prefers to plan a resumption of its passenger flights to the Caribbean from July 2.

At the same time, and even if Belgium suspends travel bans for essential reasons and allows people to travel more freely after April 18, the French government still imposes compelling reasons to be able to travel to Guadeloupe and Martinique. . "According to the information gathered and collected from stakeholders on site, the lifting of these travel conditions for compelling reasons would not take place for several weeks," said Air Belgium.

In addition, to complete its flights to the Antilles, Air Belgium is collaborating with Air Caraïbes and will travel to Curaçao from July 3.
