Discovering Saint-Martin's heritage

On the theme "Heritage of the 21st century, a history of the future", the 32nd European Heritage Days will take place this weekend. This year again, the Collectivity invites the population to participate in cultural activities organized on the territory, focused on archeology.  

Most of the activities will take place in the territorial archives, located in Concordia. Here is the program :

Conference: today at 18 p.m.

Entitled “Archives, sources of stories. How to use the archives to understand and write the history of his family, his house, his island ”, this conference will be led by Stéphanie Dargaud, director of the archives.

Prize-giving / drawing competition: Saturday at 9:30 a.m.

The prizes of the BCD / extracurricular drawing competition on the subject of archeology will be awarded to the students. These drawings made by CE2, CM1 and CM2 will be exhibited on this occasion.

Guided tour: Saturday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.

Guided tours of the conservation premises will take place from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (in English) and from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. (in French). Registration required on 05 90 87 66 60.

Exhibition: Saturday at 8 a.m.

Entitled "Archives of the soil, archives of paper. Archeology in Saint-Martin (1950-2015) ”, this exhibition will be open to the public until 13 p.m.

Guided tour: Saturday at 17 p.m.

The archives will organize a guided tour of Fort Louis from 17 p.m. to 18 p.m. Meet at the foot of Calvary.
