Once again this year, the Métimer association is once again organizing a sea discovery day for young people from Saint-Martin.
This event, named Sea Discovery Day, will take place on November 23, in partnership with the French State and the Collectivity of Saint-Martin, the Saint-Martin Nature Reserve, the Sea Rescue Society, the activity center. nautical Wind Adventure, the Agoa sanctuary, and public schools. Organized in favor of the youth of the island, Métimer and its partners this year are reiterating a new edition in order to perpetuate this action annually, like the Fête de la Mer. The association of professionals of the sea insists on the social and educational significance of Sea Discovery Day: "The objective is to make our young people discover the sea and marine fauna, the importance of our natural resources, make them aware of the preservation of our magnificent nature, the pleasure of sailing on a sailboat, and the sea trades, which are so numerous, and why not create vocations… ”. Last year, 120 young people embarked on fifteen boats, graciously made available by several charter companies.
In order to renew this day of wonder and discovery for our youth, Métimer is calling on the operators to hire the boats and skippers necessary for this great action to take place.
