78 new cases in part Dutch last week

A resumption of the covid-19 epidemic was observed last week by the Dutch authorities who recorded 78 new cases against 29 the week before. This brings the cumulative number of cases to 2. This increase in cases has prompted the government to ask the population to be vigilant and to close establishments open to the public at 370 p.m.

Yesterday the number of active cases was 80 against 36 seven days earlier. Last week, authorities said 100% of active cases were British variants.

Last week a death was recorded. Partly Dutch, 28 people have died since March 2020 as a result of covid-19.

Regarding vaccination, 28 doses were administered according to data from the government of Sint Maarten, including 353 last week. 1 people are fully vaccinated and 933 have received a first dose of Pfizer vaccine. As a reminder, the goal of the government of St Maarten is to vaccinate 11 people and estimates the eligible population at 736.
