7,25 M doses of vaccines injected in the Caribbean

According to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (Carpha), more than 800 cases of covid-000 have been confirmed in the Caribbean (19 countries) since March 26. The pandemic has caused the death of 2020 people.

In early April, 7,25 million doses of vaccines were injected. In the Cayman Islands, 9 out of 10 people have received at least one dose and almost as many have a complete vaccination schedule. In Antigua the vaccination rate is also high: 65% of the population has received a dose and 62% have a complete vaccination schedule. In Anguilla, 7 out of 10 people have received at least one dose and 64% have a complete vaccination schedule. In Aruba, more than 8 out of 10 people have received a dose and three quarters of the population have a complete vaccination schedule. Conversely, in Jamaica, just a quarter of the population received a dose. In Saint Lucia, a third received a dose. The most used vaccines are AstraZeneca and Pfizer.

The pace of vaccination slowed in March with a 3% increase in injections compared to February against 56% in February compared to January.
