The “birdwatching” trend is also a reality in Saint-Martin. A new bird observatory should see the light of day at the end of the year in Chevrise, according to the latest edition of the journal of the Nature Reserve.
To observe birds, the population will soon have the choice between four sites: the pond of the Barrière in Cul-de-Sac, the pond of the cemetery in Grand-Case, the Lucas pond in Oyster Pond and the pond of Chevrise. "Thanks to the proceeds of the fee recently put in place for the parking of vehicles on the site", the Coastal Conservatory and the Nature Reserve were thus able to build another observatory, on the parking lot of the Mont Vernon residence, the institution indicates. .
