HEALTH / The health pass should be in place on September 13 in Saint-Barth ... and soon in Saint-Martin.

According to the decree of August 7, the prefect is empowered to take measures to apply the health pass in Saint-Martin and Saint-Barth. At the time of its launch in metropolitan France, Serge Gouteyron had not decided to set up the pass in our territories while waiting to see the situation evolve and to discuss with socio-professionals, elected officials and representatives of civil society. . However, he never concealed his desire to put it in place.

Monday morning, during a press conference, Serge Gouteyron announced that the health pass would be in place initially in Saint-Barth from September 13 in restaurants-bars and hotels. Customers of these establishments must therefore present one of the three certificates required by the health pass (see below). People who work in these establishments will be subject to these same rules.

In Saint-Martin, the prefect is still reflecting with socio-professionals on the methods of application of the measure, precisely on the date of entry into force. Because concerning the rules, they will be the same as elsewhere and will only apply in restaurants and hotels.

For Serge Gouteyron, the implementation of the health pass is, as the next tourist season approaches, a major issue for the territory which can claim to be a safe destination for tourists. "Americans will be demanding and will want to go where the risks are lowest," he says.

The health pass includes three types

of evidence:

• either a vaccination certificate,

• either a negative test certificate of less than 72 hours,

• or a positive test certificate of at least 11 days and less than 6 months valid as proof of recovery. Each of these certificates is encoded and signed in the form of a QR Code.
