The Advocate General had requested 15 years of criminal confinement and 10 years of inadmissibility. Finally, Diedus Metellus, a 61-year-old man from Haiti and living in Saint-Martin was sentenced Tuesday April 4 by the Assize Court of Guadeloupe to fourteen years of criminal imprisonment. He was convicted of the murder of Faustin Defrance, 40, on December 20, 2014.

Between 19:30 p.m. and 20 p.m., the two men stood in front of a Chinese convenience store at Sandy Ground as they used to be, but for undetermined reasons, Diedus Metellus took a knife from his pocket and stuck it in the Faustin's abdomen. The victim died in the ambulance that takes him to the hospital. (More details on www.soualigapost.com)
