134 million USD released by the Netherlands for Sint-Maarten

The Netherlands has just released an additional $ 134,4 million for Sint Maarten, Prime Minister Leona Romeo Marlin confirmed. This brings to 310 million USD the funds available from the 580 million promised by the kingdom for the reconstruction of the territory.

"They will be used over the next seven years," said Leona Romeo Marlin.

Among the projects that will thus be financed and carried out, are reconstructions of the fire station, the police station, schools, assistance to the most vulnerable, or those of the Sint Maarten Housing Development Foundation and GEBE.

The Prime Minister also announced last week the launch of the first phase of work on the police stations in Philipsburg and Simpson bay and roofing work on badly damaged houses.
